Former McCracken County Property Valuation Administrator Nancy Bock appeared in court Monday, and received a sentence on forgery and theft charges.

Bock's attorney, Mark Bryant, told West Kentucky Star that Graves County Circuit Judge Tim Stark handed down a total sentence of four years in prison.

Bryant added that he doesn't think Bock will go to a state penitentiary because it takes so long for the justice department to find a place for new inmates. Since she will meet with a parole board in seven months, Bryant believes she may serve her sentence in McCracken County Jail and then receive parole.

Bock is scheduled to turn herself in to McCracken County Jail on Friday.

Bryant said at some point within the next six months, he intends to file a motion asking for shock probation for his client.

Bock pleaded guilty in April to seven counts of forgery and one count of theft, and resigned her office last September, just before she was indicted. The charges stem from forged travel vouchers and use of a state credit card for personal purchases.

Proceedings were held in Graves County Circuit Court since several people, including McCracken County Judges, recused themselves from the case.
