Four Arrested on Drug and Other Charges

A man wanted in two counties and three other people were arrested Friday afternoon in Paducah. 

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says they had been looking for 42-year-old Thomas Lane of Ledbetter, who was wanted on multiple felony charges in Graves and McCracken Counties. A detective spotted Lane getting into a vehicle at a gas station on Old Mayfield Road, and blocked the vehicle so it couldn't leave. Detectives say Lane tried to flee on foot but was arrested after a brief chase and struggle.

A search of Lane and his vehicle revealed he was carrying a taser. Detectives also found methamphetamine, MSM (a cutting agent used in meth) and a digital scale in the vehicle. 

The investigation continued as detectives executed a search warrant at the Broyles Avenue home where Lane had been prior to the arrest. The search revealed meth and drug paraphernalia, so three people who were in the home were also arrested. One of them, 41-year-old Bradley Mitchell, allegedly gave detectives a false name because he believed there was a warrant for his arrest.

Mitchell, 20-year-old Courtney Windsor of Contest Road, and 40-year-old Tina Mitchell of Broyles Avenue face charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bradley Mitchell also faces a charge of giving an officer a false name.

Lane faces new charges of fleeing or evading police, trafficking in methamphetamine, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was already wanted on warrants from McCracken County for possession of a forged instrument, and from Graves County for escape, possession of a handgun by a felon, trafficking in a controlled substance, theft, criminal mischief and possession charges.

All four people were taken to McCracken County Jail.
