I-24 Accident Sends One to Hospital

A single-vehicle accident on I-24 Wednesday afternoon sent a man to the hospital.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says deputies responded at 5:20 p.m. to a crash on I-24, just east of the Husband Road exit. Deputies found that 37-year-old James Shea of Interlachen, FL, was traveling west when he had a medical emergency. Shea's vehicle left the roadway and struck the cable barriers.

Shea's vehicle lost a front wheel in the crash, which was struck by another vehicle traveling east. The driver of the other vehicle safely pulled over to the shoulder.

Shea was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
