Authorities are looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run last Thursday near the Barbecue on the River Festival.

The Paducah Police Department says 44-year-old Tamayra Atkinson told officers she was walking across 3rd Street at around 5:50 pm when she was hit by a large, gray GMC SUV with Illinois tags. Atkinson said the driver, a white woman with blonde hair, stopped and said, “You were in my blind spot,” and drove away.

Atkinson was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL. Police are offering a reward up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
