The West Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host its "Game Changer" banquet this evening at First Baptist Church of Paducah.

Keynote speaker for the event will be two-time softball Olympian Jennie Finch.

An all-American pitcher in college, Finch led the 2004 Olympic team to a gold medal, and the 2008 team to a silver medal. She played professional softball for several years, and has played several times in the Legends and Celebrities Softball Game during Major League Baseball's All-Star celebration. Finch also competed on Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars.

FCA Area Director Eric Grogan said, "We've never had a female leading our banquet, so we're excited about that. We know we have a big softball community here in our area, so we thought we would give all those in the area an opportunity to hear her and be a part of the night."

Grogan told West Kentucky Star that statistics show that female athletes now represent 51 percent of those involved in FCA.

The banquet also features stories and testimonies from area athletes about how FCA is affecting how they live and compete. Tickets for the event are available at their website (see link below).

A reception for VIPs and sponsors will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by the meal at 6:30 pm. Sponsorships are still available and range from $500 - $10,000. Contact Eric Grogan at 502-394-9358 or egrogan@fca.org for details.

Earlier in the day, Finch will be involved in a "Fast Balls and Faith" clinic and demonstration at 3 pm at the McCracken County High School's indoor facility. Signups are also ongoing for that event for softball players and coaches. Individuals can attend for $30 and teams can register for $20 per player.
