A LongHorn Steakhouse is going to be built on Hinkleville Road in Paducah, where the former Ryan's Steakhouse currently stands.

According to City Public Information Officer Pam Spencer, the Planning and Zoning Department has received the necessary paperwork for the construction of a new LongHorn Steakhouse on the site.

Plans call for a new building to be constructed of between 5,000 and 9,999 square feet. A construction start date has not yet been announced.

LongHorn Steakhouse is owned by Darden Restaurants, which also owns Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, Eddie V's, and Yard House.  Darden also owned Red Lobster at one point, but sold off that chain in 2014.

Currently, the closest locations for a LongHorn Steakhouse are in Clarksville and Evansville.  Neither Cape Girardeau or Carbondale have one.

Darden Restaurants has not returned calls to West Kentucky Star.
