Murray State University basketball player Zaveral "Zay" Jackson has accepted a plea deal to charges of assault and wanton endangerment.

The Paducah Sun reported that the 20-year-old Jackson, from Hammond, La., agreed to the deal Monday in McCracken County.

Under the deal, Jackson will serve 60 days, including 11 days credit for time served. He has 49 days to serve and three years of supervised probation.

Jackson was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment after a Sept. 10 incident in the parking lot of Murray's Walmart.

Police say he hit a man with his car after an argument.

Jackson originally pleaded guilty to first-degree wanton endangerment after facing two counts of second-degree assault. A judge said a 30-day jail sentence was too lenient. Jackson withdrew the plea.
