A man spotted walking along Oaks Road Friday night was arrested on drug charges.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies, a suspicious-looking male was seen walking in the 1000 block of Oaks Road. Due to recent thefts in the area, deputies stopped to talk to 37-year-old Michael Fiscus of Paducah. After he consented to a search of his backpack, Fiscus tried to run away, but was caught a few minutes later.

Deputies say a methamphetamine lab was found in the backpack, and it was secured until it could be disposed of properly.

Fiscus was arrested for public intoxication, fleeing or evading police on foot, manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fiscus was taken to McCracken County Jail.
