A Paducah man who faces kidnapping charges after a Memorial Day standoff on Buckner Lane was in court on Thursday.

Forty-four-year-old Wade Alexander was arraigned before McCracken District Judge Todd Jones, and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He faces charges of kidnapping, first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Alexander was arrested Monday evening after a standoff that began at 7:30 am. Paducah Police came to the home in the 3500 block of Buckner Lane after Alexander's sister said she had been held her against her will for about two hours and threatened with a shotgun and a knife. Alexander also allegedly threatened his sister's boyfriend, and endangered his 19-year-old nephew, who was sleeping in the basement.

The McCracken District Court Clerk says Alexander's cash bond is $150,000, and he was appointed a public advocate. His bond conditions stipulate he must have no further offenses and have no contact with the victim. He must also stay away from the home on Buckner Lane and cannot possess any weapons, including guns.

Alexander's preliminary hearing is set for 1:00 pm on June 4.
