Man in Store Hiding from Others After Argument

PADUCAH, KY - A number of police officers converged on a Paducah business this afternoon after a reported armed robbery, but it turned out to be nothing more than a dispute over money.
Paducah Police responded to the Kentucky Tobacco Outlet on Hinkleville Road. David Blanton of Marion, OH, and two other men initially said that 42-year-old Bryon L. Peeler of Radcliffe, KY had robbed them of $75 at gunpoint at a motel nearby, then had fled to the store to hide.
When officers entered the store, they found Peeler was unarmed, and he said he was hiding in the store after arguing with the men over money, and was afraid.
Blanton and the other men were warned about filing a false police report, and admitted during questioning by detectives that there had been no gun involved.
Officers found two Jefferson County warrants for Peeler’s arrest, and took him into custody. He was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
