A virtual community forum will take place tonight in Paducah to discuss community issues such as police and community relations and African American economic development.

All of Paducah's mayoral candidates, including George Bray, Commissioner Richard Abraham, Mayor Brandi Harless, and Dujuan Thomas, will be in attendance, as well as representatives from black fraternities and sororities, the NAACP, and other African American leadership in the community. The forum will be hosted by Project Speak Life, a Paducah nonprofit.

The group wrote, "The goal of this freshman meeting is to begin relevant dialogue between African American leaders, our local political leaders, and the community regarding an increase in positive cultural interactions and police/community relations leading to the protection of all citizens. In addition, this forum will largely focus on moving forward, particularly as the progression relates to promoting substantial economic opportunities for minorities (i.e., equal access to business development, opportunities to be represented in city/county government decisions impacting our people, etc.)."

The event is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. The event will not be open to the public, but will be livestreamed from the Yeiser Art Center.
