Paducah Mayor Brandi Harless is running for re-election in 2020.

Harless made the announcement with a Facebook video on Friday. In the video, filmed at Kolb Park, the first-term mayor speaks about some of her accomplishments while other citizens file into view, with some saying, "I'm with her."

In the video, Harless recalls participating in neighborhood walks to learn from citizens, creating more ways for citizens and business owners to engage at city hall, and working toward construction of facilities that can host sports tournaments.

"It's not just about talk, it's about action. For years before I was elected, our community talked about the need for better sports facilities. Now, we're building an indoor recreation and aquatics center, as well as tournament-worthy sports facilities," Harless says.

In the Facebook post and in the video, Harless says she would be honored and grateful to continue to serve the city.

The only other declared candidate for mayor is Richard Abraham, who has served seven terms as City Commissioner.
