PADUCAH, KY - Mayor Gayle Kaler in partnership with Yeiser Art Center is now accepting entries for artists to participate in the Mayor’s Art Club through January 31.
This is the first year for the program, which will honor eight artists for 2013 from the entries that are received. During each quarter of the year, two eight artists will have the opportunity to display their artwork in the Mayor’s office and reception area at City Hall.
Mayor Kaler says, “I am proud of the arts and the important contribution that the arts have brought to the quality of life in Paducah. I want to give citizens the opportunity to view the works of our local artists while visiting City Hall.”
Mayor Kaler adds, “Using the Mayor’s office at City Hall to showcase local talent will provide another avenue to send the message to Paducah’s residents and visitors that this City truly embraces the arts.”
All forms of art are acceptable. Students are encouraged to submit their work for review. The Mayor’s Art Club is limited to artists who live in McCracken County.
Artists who would like to have their art considered for display should send images of their artwork to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on January 31, 2013. Submissions must include contact information including the artist’s phone number.
The eight artists selected for 2013 will be notified in early February. A reception will be held at City Hall in February for the public to meet the artists and see the first installment of artwork.
