McCracken Crash Leads to Drug Charges for Driver

A weekend crash in McCracken County led to drug charges for the driver.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 11:30 pm Saturday in the 4400 block of Hardmoney Road. While speaking to the driver, 24-year-old Christian Childress of Paducah, a deputy allegedly saw suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Childress was placed under arrest and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail. Once at the jail, deputy jailers reportedly found an additional controlled substance hidden in Childress's clothing.

Childress is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance, promoting contraband and tampering with physical evidence.
