With the addition of four new historical collections, the McCracken County Public Library’s digital collections site now hosts over 10,000 freely-available digital items.

According to a press release, items contained in the digital collection document hundreds of years of Paducah and McCracken County history through photographs, manuscripts, oral histories, and more.

The newest collections reportedly include 122 items in the Marylee Comisak Collection, 32 items in the Paducah American Legion Post 31 Collection, 130 items in the Robert Bruyns Vietnam War Collection, and 408 items in the Susan Hayne Collection.

“These new collections are part of a decade-long effort on the part of library staff and volunteers to digitize and make local historical documents available to the public.  We’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and there’s still a lot of work left to do,” says Systems and Web Services Librarian Zach Underwood.

All 42 historical collections can be accessed online by visiting digitalcollections.mclib.net.
