McCracken and Marshall County sheriff's offices conducted a joint investigation that led to the Thursday arrest of a McCracken County man for marijuana trafficking, following the execution of a search warrant.

Detectives said they received numerous complaints of illegal drug activity occurring on Yarbro Lane in McCracken County. The investigation led to detectives obtaining a search warrant for 27-year-old Michael Allen's home on Yarbro Lane.

During the execution of the search warrant, police say Allen tried to run out the back door of the home but was apprehended.

During the search of the home, deputies allegedly seized several pounds of marijuana, THC vape cartridges, marijuana wax, a vacuum sealer, a money counter and approximately $14,000 in cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. Detectives also found a loaded .45 caliber handgun.

Allen was arrested and charged with firearm enhanced trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
