A man is facing drug, theft, and gun charges after a traffic stop in McCracken County.

On Wednesday, while on patrol, deputies say they recognized a suspect from an earlier theft case.

After performing a traffic stop for alleged traffic violations, deputies say the driver was identified as 32-year-old Nelson Scott Waldkoetter of McCracken County. According to deputies, Waldkoetter matched the description of a suspect from surveillance footage.

While searching the vehicle, deputies reportedly found property related to a theft case. Deputies say they also found marijuana, and a loaded handgun inside of the vehicle. Deputies also determined that he was a convicted felon.
