On Friday morning, four McCracken County Schools employees helped three children and their mother escape from a car trapped in a flood.

The woman stated that after encountering the flooded area, she saw a vehicle ahead of her drive through the water so she thought she could make it.

After getting stuck, MCPS employees Joe Gaia, Mike Gaia, Chad Henson, and Dale Smith assisted her and her children to safety. There was standing water inside the car. The children warmed up inside the MCPS employees' vehicles. No one was injured.

The woman was reportedly issued a warning by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.
