McCracken Sheriff Warns of New Scam
By West Kentucky Star Staff
MCCRACKEN COUNTY - The McCracken County Sheriff's Office is warning of a new scam showing up in the area.

According to deputies, people have received calls from someone claiming to be with a health insurance company, with the caller claiming that a prescription could not be paid, and then asking the potential victim to verify some personal information.

One person that had received the call hung up, then called the number on their insurance card to verify, and found that the insurance company was not the source of the calls.

Deputies are reminding everyone to verify who you are speaking with, and to be mindful that you could be dealing with a scam.

If you have any questions, contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Office.
