The McCracken County Sheriff's Office is recognizing the dedication of two of their own as they retire.

"The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has experienced a very bittersweet day," said Sheriff Matt Carter. "At a time when a portion of society is down on the men and women that serve and protect, I’m honored to announce the retirement of Corporal Dwayne Pickett and Deputy Don Copley."

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, the two men have over 56 years of combined service between them, protecting and serving the citizens of Paducah-McCracken County.

Both men end their career with a blemish-free record, and Corporal Pickett has received two lifesaving awards during his time of service.

"Please join us in congratulating these two men and wishing them the very best in their future endeavors," Carter continued. "Thank you both for your service; we will take it from here."
