A Marshall County man is facing theft charges after an investigation into a missing handgun.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded Saturday to a home in Reidland after receiving a report of a stolen handgun. The victim told deputies that a local business had been doing work at the home, but after the job was completed, the victim noticed that a handgun was missing from within the home, along with about 65 oxycodone pills. The victim contacted the business, who then assisted deputies by providing information on the employees that had worked at the home.

On Monday, detectives interviewed 28-year-old Christian Park of Benton, who allegedly admitted to taking the handgun and pills from the home. Park was arrested, and is being charged with one count of theft of a handgun by unlawful taking, and one count of theft of a controlled substance under $10,000 by unlawful taking.
