A collision of a motorcycle and an SUV Monday evening closed a portion of 32nd Street in Paducah for over an hour, and sent two people to the hospital.

According to Paducah Police, 17-year-old Sophia Cook, of Paducah, told officers she was driving north on 32nd Street and attempting to turn left onto Lorine Lane, when a motorcycle attempted to pass her and collided with her SUV. The motorcycle operator, 18-year-old Wesley Carden, also of Paducah, told officers that he knew Cook, and was attempting to ride next to her vehicle, when she began to turn left and his motorcycle hit the SUV.

Carden and a passenger on his motorcycle, 18-year-old Tamisha Sanders of Glasgow, were taken to Baptist Health for treatment of injuries.

32nd Street was closed between Pines Road and Spring Street as a result of the accident.
