The McCracken County Sheriff's Office has closed its investigation into alleged sexual crimes by Kris Garrett, choosing not to file any charges against the former McCracken County High School Athletic Director.

According to Captain Ryan Norman's report obtained by West Kentucky Star through an open records request, there was no evidence that Garrett was having inappropriate communications with minors or high school students. The report did say that Garrett most likely used the school's computer system and his position to get former students' information, and that he contacted them to obtain naked pictures once they were no longer enrolled and over 18 years old.

"Garrett was aware of the risk this caused of possibly receiving pictures of students or minors, but there is no proof that he did receive pictures of that nature," Norman said.

Investigators also said they recovered "Snapchat data" from Garrett containing naked pictures of an adult former student, as well as more than a thousand other accounts that were almost all sexual in nature. Norman said he couldn't verify if any of the other Snapchat accounts belonged to students or former students.

Norman said the Commonwealth Attorney's Office has decided that there is no conclusive evidence of criminal activity in the case, saying they can't prove Garrett deleted evidence when he deleted his Snapchat app.

Garrett resigned from his position last month after after the allegations of inappropriate contact were made public.
