PADUCAH - A Paducah man faces assault charges after an argument ended in a shooting on Wednesday.

Officers with the Paducah Police Department were called to Baptist Health Paducah where a woman was being treated for an injury to the back of her head.

The woman told officers that she had been at her home near North 11th and Harrison, and had gotten into an argument with 29-year-old Charles E. Lincoln. According to the woman, Lincoln allegedly went to his vehicle and got a handgun, then fired the gun at her as she ducked, with the bullet grazing the back of her head.

Officers said three witnesses corroborated the woman's account of the event.

She was taken to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment of her injury.

A short time later Lincoln's mother brought him to the McCracken County Jail to turn him in. Officers obtained a search warrant for his vehicle, where they reportedly located the gun believed to have been used in the shooting.

Lincoln is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.
