The Paducah Area Transit System has been awarded funding to help support routes and services.

According to City of Paducah Public Information Officer Pam Spencer, PATS public transportation is set to receive $215,000 in funding for this fiscal year.

The funding will go toward supporting their routes and services, with particular attention being given to the new route to Commerce Park.

Paducah officials commented, saying that access to public transportation benefits the community in a variety of ways with a reduction in road congestion, and lowered household expenses.
