According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, last week detectives received information indicating that 27-year-old Chancellor Wilson was selling illegal drugs, with some of those drugs reportedly being sent through the mail.
On Monday, just after 4 pm, detectives and a postal inspector performed a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Wilson. Detectives brought a K-9 to the scene, which reportedly indicated there could be illegal drugs in the vehicle. Detectives said a search of the vehicle revealed THC-infused candies.
A short time later, detectives were conducting surveillance on Wilson's home on Cornell Street when 24-year-old Syreetta Johnson was reportedly seen leaving the home with a suitcase and a duffel bag.
Detectives say they performed a traffic stop on the vehicle after noticing a traffic violation. During the stop, detectives reportedly noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. They then searched the vehicle and reportedly seized six pounds of marijuana from the suitcase and duffel bag, as well as drug paraphernalia, and a drug ledger. Johnson was placed under arrest.
Detectives then obtained a search warrant for Wilson's home where they reportedly found four handguns, money believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, additional marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Wilson and Johnson were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
Wilson was charged with second offense trafficking in marijuana (eight ounces-five pounds), second offense trafficking marijuana over five pounds (firearm enhanced), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson was charged with trafficking marijuana over five pounds (firearm enhanced), possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence.
