Dairy Queen is hosting an event to raise money to benefit the McCracken County Humane Society.

On Friday, November 1, the Paducah Dairy Queen is hosting an event they're calling 'Dairy Queen Going to the Dogs'. Throughout the day, the proceeds from any Blizzards sold will go towards helping the McCracken County Humane Society.

The event was created in response to last weeks chihuahua and pit bull seizure, where over 40 chihuahua's were found at a Paducah home, and 20 pit bulls were brought in.

In addition to food, staff from the Humane Society say that many of the dogs will require extensive medical treatment before they can find their 'furever homes.'

Both Paducah Dairy Queen locations will donate $1 from every Blizzard sold on Friday to go towards the shelter. Both restaurants are locally owned and the owner, Jay Page, currently counts three rescued chihuahua's as family members.

Page praised the work the staff and volunteers of the shelter, saying, "We’re proud to once again partner with this wonderful organization and are optimistic the community will take the opportunity to enjoy a Blizzard for such a good cause."

Both Dairy Queen locations will be open on Friday from 6 AM through 11 PM.
