Paducah Improv and The Carson Center will be presenting “Quilt City Showdown” on Saturday, July 27 at 7:30 pm in The Carson Center’s Myre River Room. “Quilt City Showdown!” is a no holds barred comedy cage match pitting improv team vs. improv team satirically sparring for stage supremacy. This high energy, game show format show is hilariously fast paced, and filled with smart improv comedy.

“It’s like ‘Whose Line is it Anyway’ on steroids with clown make up on!” says Paducah Improv’s Producer, Chuck Tate

The actors will be split into two teams with a referee keeping the match fair. Scenes will be created by audience suggestions and will include gimmicks like, “horn of boredom” which will be blown when a scene is taking a nose dive and the box of random props for the teams to make scenes with. Other forms of scene ideas will come from trivial pursuit cards, horoscopes from various papers and box of fortune cookies. The funniest team will be chosen by the audience by using a clap meter and will awarded an amazing, hand crafted trophy constructed of 24 carat gold, Hornbill Ivory and Amazonian Rosewood.

Appearing for their first time on stage will be the Paducah Improv Student Team. The student team consists of 9 very talented improvisers that auditioned for the group this past March. The team will perform a 30-45 min short for improv jam during the “Quilt City Showdown”

Paducah Improv was created with the vision to provide consistent entertainment to the Paducah area and surrounding region with improvisational comedy and original sketches. The goal of Paducah Improv is to provide the community with affordable entertainment, deliver a community service through performance, production and internships, and offer supportive donations to local charitable organizations whenever possible.

Tickets are $5 plus fees for general admission seating and can be purchased by walk up, by calling the Carson Center Box Office at 270-450-4444 or online at www.thecarsoncenter.org.
