A Paducah man was arrested Saturday night after he ran from cops following a traffic stop.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Wayne Sullivan Drive for traffic violations. The vehicle was being driven by 28-year-old Richard D. Vaughn of Paducah.

As the vehicle came to a stop, police said Vaughn exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies pursued Vaughn as he ran into traffic while running across Wayne Sullivan Drive. The chase continued on the south side of Irvin Cobb Drive, where deputies lost sight of Vaughn as he entered a wooded area.

Vaughn was eventually located at a nearby home and taken into custody without further incident. He was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Vaughn is charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police, no operator's license and improper registration plate.
