A Paducah man was arrested Saturday afternoon after a disturbance at a home on Berger Road.

According to police, officers were called to a report of a disturbance involving a man with a firearm. When police arrived, they reportedly found two men, one of them matching the description provided of the man who allegedly had the gun. That man, identified as 29-year-old Ramon L.Moore, walked into the kitchen of the home as officers tried to determine what had happened.

Officer Mike Redmon said it was apparent that an altercation of some sort had taken place in the home, and officers eventually determined an argument over money had escalated.

No gun was found in Moore’s possession, and the resident allowed officers to search the kitchen.

During the search, police found a loaded 9mm handgun in a microwave oven. Moore was arrested, and police say he later admitted that he had tried to hide the handgun in the kitchen.

Moore was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tampering with physical evidence.
