According to the Paducah Police Department, officers were called on Thursday, September 12, after reports of possible gunfire. Shortly after arriving on the scene officers found several bullet casings on the ground, and learned that a shooting victim had arrived at a local hospital.
Officers say the shooting victim, 18-year-old Sydney Robertson, was a passenger in a vehicle that had been shot at.
After investigating, detectives say the shooter was identified as 20-year-old Sy'Ron Venerable of Paducah. Officers located and arrested Venerable Friday afternoon.
Venerable is being charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, and second-degree criminal mischief.
