A Paducah man has been arrested on a drug trafficking charge, and other charges.

According to Paducah Police, detectives received information that 41-year-old Montez L. Benjamin was trafficking in methamphetamine.

Their investigation found that Benjamin had 2.4 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle when he met Wednesday afternoon with an undercover detective to sell him drugs. A search warrant was also served at his home and detectives found additional methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

Benjamin was arrested on charges of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, driving with a suspended or revoked operator's license, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
