Paducah Man Charged with Rape of Child

A Paducah man has been arrested after allegedly raping a six-year-old girl and videoing the abuse.

According to Paducah Police, officers were called at 7:30 Wednesday morning to a home where a woman told them she had found a video of a man engaging in sexual activity with her six-year-old daughter. Officers said the woman and the accused man are acquainted.

The child was taken by the woman and police officers to a local hospital for treatment.

Police then went to the home of 23-year-old Tirrell L. Vasser. When they confronted him, he attempted to run, but was caught after a scuffle. Two officers were hurt in the incident, one of whom sought medical attention. 

Vasser was arrested on charges of first-degree rape, use of a minor in a sexual performance (physical injury), possessing/viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, resisting arrest, and first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot).

He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
