Paducah Man Dies After Being Struck by Train
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Police are investigating the death of a Paducah man who was hit by a train early Monday morning on Paducah’s south side.

An employee of P&L Railroad told Paducah Police he was spotting for a train engineer about 7:15 am, when he saw a body on the railroad tracks adjacent to Clark’s River Road behind Lowe’s.

Detective Anthony Copeland said investigators determined 22-year-old Jacolby D. Askew had been hit by an earlier train, but the crew of that train was apparently unaware of the accident. That train was headed to Centralia, IL.

Copeland said Centralia detectives will interview the crew, but foul play is not suspected.
