Paducah Man Dies When Truck Hits Tree

A single-vehicle accident Friday on Wayne Sullivan Drive claimed the life of a Paducah man.

Paducah Police responded to the intersection of Wayne Sullivan Drive and Farley Place at 11:41 am. They said a pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Steven T. Downs was northbound on Wayne Sullivan Drive, crossed the centerline and both southbound lanes, left the road and hit a tree.

Police said there were no signs that Downs tried to avoid the crash. They said it is possible he may have had a medical issue before the accident. 

Downs was taken to Baptist Health Paducah where he was pronounced dead.
