On Wednesday, McCracen County deputies were sent to College Avenue after a report of shots fired. According to deputies, they learned that 38-year-old Larico D. Gaddie had fired a handgun numerous times at an 18-year-old victim. Deputies say Gaddie chased the victim and kept firing the gun. The victim wasn't injured, and Gaddie reportedly fled the scene.
A short time later he was spotted near Martin Luther King Drive, where deputies performed a traffic stop and searched his car. They reportedly found a bullet casing in the backseat and a handgun in the trunk.
Gaddie is currently on a federal release for a previous federal gun charge, and under the supervision of the US Probation Office. Detectives are continuing the investigation, and federal charges are possible.
He is being charged with attempted murder, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, first degree wanton endangerment, and first degree criminal mischief.
