Paducah Man Faces Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

A traffic stop early Friday morning resulted in the arrest of a Paducah man on methamphetamine charges.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says around 12:40, deputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the 6100 block of Old Mayfield Road. Deputies said the driver, 29-year-old Edward Mitman of Paducah. was operating the vehicle under the influence of intoxicants. A search of the vehicle was conducted, revealing approximately 49 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia and $328 in cash, which is believed to be proceeds of illegal drugs sales.

Mitman was charged with operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, driving on a DUI suspended license, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 oz). He was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
