If you are watching Lifetime Saturday evening, you may recognize a familiar local face as one of the main actors in a new movie.

Paducah native Curtis Hamilton, 30, will be playing Dr. Dre in Lifetime's newest movie, "Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le".

Hamilton says this is not the usual movie you would see on the Lifetime Television Network...

"It is dark.. any domestic violence is something that is hard to watch when you see it on the screen. It's a lot," Hamilton tells West Kentucky Star.

"We hit I think a lot of levels, it's a very cinematic experience, even though it's a Lifetime TV movie..It's not what you would normally see on Lifetime."

The movie is actually considered a response from Michel'le's side of her relationship that was not included in the movie released in 2015, "Straight Outta Compton". Michel'le has maintained she had an abusive relationship with Dr. Dre that the original movie doesn't depict.

Hamilton says he is enjoying his time out in Los Angeles and is looking forward to his next acting role.  His entire family and many life long friends remain in Paducah.

The movie airs nationwide, Saturday, on the Lifetime Network at 7 pm Paducah time.  Check your local listings.
