The body of a man was found in the Ohio River on Thursday afternoon after his van was pulled from the river at the foot of Broadway.
Police were called Thursday morning after a submerged vehicle was spotted by the crew of the American Duchess as it docked at the Paducah riverfront. No one was in the vehicle when it was pulled from the water.
According to the Paducah Police Department, two men fishing from the riverbank Thursday afternoon spotted what appeared to be a body tangled in trees near the bank and called police. Paducah firefighters recovered the body, and a wallet in the man's pocket identified him as 49-year-old Keith F. Barnes of Paducah.
Foul play is not suspected, but the body will be sent to the Regional Crime Lab at Madisonville, KY for an autopsy on Friday.
Family members told detectives that they last saw Barnes Saturday morning. Police reviewed surveillance video from cameras at the foot of Broadway and saw the van enter the water at 5:25 a.m. Monday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550.
