Paducah Native to Interview President Obama

LOUISVILLE, KY - Paducah native Vicki Dortch, now a Louisville television anchor, has landed an interview with President Barack Obama at the White House.

WLKY-TV said in a release that Dortch will interview Obama, tour the White House with curator William G. Allman, interview White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford as well as meet with senior administration officials and attend a White House press event.

News Director Mike Neelly said WLKY is the only news organization from Kentucky to receive an invitation from the White House.

The station plans to air coverage of the White House visit on July 9.

Dortch was an anchor for WPSD in Paducah before moving to Louisville.

  Independent - I think they all want her to ask to see his birth certificate or something. That horse was beaten to within an inch of its life and their conspiracy theory was proven wrong. It will be one conspiracy theroy after another until he is re-elected and then they will all go back into the woodwork.

  Here you folks are, concerned that the lady might show favorable bias when interviewing the president. If you are so afraid that biased interviewing might influence people in a dangerous way, why in the hell do some of you listen to Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Republican Radio?

  I wonder what reporter will ask President Obama if he stands by his assertion that Iran is a tiny little country that threatens nobody. Helen Thomas was a hateful hack for many years with no journalist integrity but was allowed front row accomodations as long as her vile was only directed at Republicans...

  Peter P. - What questions could they possibly ask that haven't already been asked? Seriously, I don't understand what anyone would want to ask the president that he would not allow to be asked. Unless of course it was something of a personal nature which is none o anyone's business anyway.

  Don't you find it a little weird that this constitutes a news article to the minders of this site? Reporters report, and any number of people have interviewed Obama, Bush, Clinton et al. I think this is more a Social Page feature than anything else, generated for or by some Paducah gentry.

  There isn't a reporter on the planet that wouldn't jump at the chance to interview a sitting president. That includes the ones on this site. Donna Groves or Greg Dunker either one would wet their pants if given such an opportunity. I say congratulations to Vicki Dortch for getting the honor.
