On Saturday the Paducah Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a drug collection at Kentucky Oaks Mall for dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

Residents may bring pills for disposal to the mall between 10 am and 2 pm. The Paducah Police Department also has a drop box in its main lobby, accessible anytime during business hours Monday through Friday. The service is free and anonymous. No liquids or needles will be accepted.

As part of the national "Take Back" campaign, collections are also taking place at Kentucky State Police Post 1 in Hickory; police stations in Marion, KY, Carbondale, Union City and Cape Girardeau; and sheriff's departments in Massac, Caldwell and Trigg counties.

Last year Americans turned in 350 tons of prescription drugs at more than 5,000 sites operated by the DEA, and more than 3,800 of its state and local law enforcement partners.
