According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a home on Yarbro Lane Saturday night to investigate a burglary that had taken place. Deputies said a woman had knocked on the door of the home and when the homeowner answered the door, the woman pushed her way into the home and assaulted the homeowner, causing physical injury.
The homeowner was able to get away from the woman and call for help while the suspect fled the area in a vehicle.
Deputies identified the suspect as 39-year-old Amberly D. Wallis of Paducah. Deputies found Wallis at a home on Caldwell Street, where she was taken into custody.
Wallis was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail on a charge of 1st degree burglary.
