A Paducah woman was charged with assault after an altercation Sunday night.

The Paducah Police Department says officers responded at around 9:25 p.m. to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital to a report of a stabbing in the 1100 block of Elmdale Road. Officers spoke with 19-year-old Brantarius Milliken, who told them 20-year-old Sa’Myra Guerin stabbed her several times with a pair of scissors during an argument.

Detectives said Guerin told them Milliken had started the fight, and that Guerin “blacked out” during the stabbing.

Guerin was arrested on a charge of first-degree assault and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
