A Paducah woman is facing additional charges after an investigation into a probation violation.

On July 22, officers with the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole met with detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office and presented them with evidence suggesting that 28-year-old Tana Engler of Paducah, was in possession of a handgun illegally.

Following this, on July 23, McCracken County detectives and officers with Probation and Parole interviewed Engler. During the interview, she reportedly admitted to owning the handgun. Additionally, detectives say she admitted to using methamphetamine and cocaine.

Engler is prohibited from owning firearms due to a 2018 felony methamphetamine conviction in McCracken County. The felony offense is the reason that Engler was on probation.

On August 4, Engler was arrested by Probation and Parole on warrants out of McCracken County.

She is being charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, and a probation violation.
