Paducah's Kight Takes 2nd at MATHCOUNTS

Paducah Middle School 8th grader Paige Kight earned the second place trophy in the individual competition category at the Kentucky Lake Chapter MATHCOUNTS contest at West Kentucky Community and Technical College on February 17th.

Kight secures a berth in the MATHCOUNTS state competition, as a result of the 2nd place finish. The state competition will be held in Lexington, in March. 

Middle school students from Calloway County, Heath, Lone Oak, Paducah, and Reidland competed at the day-long event. The national MATHCOUNTS program, created in 1983, encourages mathematics achievement through a series of engaging "bee" style contests.

Kight is the daughter of Kelly and Robert Kight.
