National Quilting Day, which is celebrated on the third Saturday of March each year, will have a special event this year hosted at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah.

Becky Glasby, National Quilt Museum Director of Education, told West Kentucky Star that the event will be a time to celebrate the art of quilting. She said it is a joint venture between the National Quilt Museum and the Quilt Alliance.

The special event, which will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 16th, will be open to the public, and will also be streamed live on the museum's Facebook page. Speaking at the event will be National Quilt Museum CEO Frank Bennett and Amy Milne, Executive Director of the Quilt Alliance.

Glasby also said the event will have music and a special type of ribbon cutting. She also suggested that those wanting to attend should be at the museum by 9:45 am.
