A Paducah man was arrested Friday for allegedly altering a prescription.

Drug Detectives from the Paducah Police Department say a local pharmacist contacted them Friday morning after 32-year-old James T. Willis tried to fill a prescription from a local doctor for percocet. The pharmacist indicated, and police allege the prescription had been altered to increase the oxycodone dosage for the pills from 5 mg to 7.5 mg.

Police say when he was interviewed, Willis said tattoo ink had rubbed onto the prescription, causing the added information.

Willis was arrested for attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, false statement or forgery, and he was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
