Play Center Installation at KY Oaks Mall Delayed
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - The installation of the soft-play area at Kentucky Oaks Mall scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 16, has been delayed due to unforseen circumstances.
The truck carrying the equipment was heavily damaged during transport, when high winds sent a large sign crashing into the rig while it was parked at a truck stop on the Colorado/Kansas border. No one was injured.
The cargo is now being assessed for damage, and it's likely that a large portion of the equipment will have to be reconstructed. The delay should be between 8-12 weeks.
Originally, installation of the play area was scheduled for February 16. While that will be delayed, the Play Center Celebration will take place as planned. Beginning at 11 am on Feb. 16, customers can enjoy meeting Stefanie Scott of the Disney television series, A.N.T. Farm. Also, the mascot for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, Fredbird, will be there, as will Centsables mascot, Hurlwind, Captain America, and Spiderman.
An announcement will be made when installation of the play equipment is near.
