Practice Exercise at DOE Paducah Site Today

Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, LLC, the deactivation and remediation contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Paducah Site, will conduct a practice exercise today with offsite emergency management agencies to ensure teams are coordinated and prepared for potential emergency events.

For the purposes of simulating an event, the Paducah site will use a hi-lo tone to indicate to site personnel that the practice exercise has begun. Multiple PA announcements will be made and each will include a message that states “this is a drill.”

This event will not be open to the media or the public. Officials say it will serve as a training tool for emergency management teams and partner agencies.
