If you're a visitor or local citizen taking part in the annual QuiltWeek activities in Paducah, there are interesting ways to get around downtown and nearby events.

Grand motor coaches have a detailed route and take guests to and from the main AQS Quilt Show at the Schroeder Expo, while the trolley goes to and from downtown with a Red Coat on board to answer questions and point out attractions along the way. A van takes quilters to and from the Quilt Museum while the bike taxi is a fun way to see sites along the river and side streets. Carriage corner is the place to hop on board for a horse drawn carriage ride. But most of all you'll see a steady stream of quilters walking and talking and looking at all there is to see and experience in Quilt City USA.

If you don't want to drive through all the traffic, use the Park and Ride at Carson Park. A shuttle bus will pick you up and take you to the Expo, but don't be in a hurry. Plan to spend plenty of time because there's a lot to see and do during QuiltWeek.

This week when Paducah doubles its population, locals must be patient as we drive. Let's simply be proud that people from all around the United States and world appreciate and value our community and the fabulous fiber art we embrace in our Creative City.
